For the early birds & caffeine lovers, Courts & Coffee is a fusion of open-play pickleball paired with a (complimentary) drip or cold brew coffee ☕. Players are matched based on their skill level and rotate around with new partners for dynamic, fast-paced, 7-point victories. 

Details:

Levels:

• Beginner (has played pickleball before but still learning the ropes)
• Intermediate (can maintain a rally and play a solid point)
• Advanced (experienced, high-level, competitive player)

Intensity: 1/3 (social and fun first and foremost)

What to expect:

• Four players on court at a time 
• Game Scoring: first to 7 points for Side-Out scoring, or first to 15 points for Rally scoring. 
• Paddle Queue: To join the game, place your paddle on the drink rail by the garden pods to form a Paddle Queue. The two paddles furthest to the left will be the next challengers on. If you’re using a Rally rental paddle, be sure to note the unique ID number on the side of the paddle so you can find your paddle in the line-up! 
• Winners: If your team wins, stay on for one more round to defend your throne! 3 times max.
• Losers: If you lose, put your paddle back in the queue to play again. 
• Enjoy your coffee and new friends while waiting for your next battle! 

Fine Print:

• All participants will play doubles 
• You are welcome to come solo, as you'll be matched with a partner. Please note if you bring a friend or family member, you're not guaranteed to play as partners. 
• All paddles and balls are included
• Cold towels will be provided and wifi is free- we encourage you to stick around and take your zoom calls at Rally (and maybe enjoy an egg sando while you work!).
• $16/session includes complimentary cold brew or drip coffee 
• Number of participants is determined by weather and outdoor court usage. More spots are opened 48 hours prior based on weather and court availability.
• If you cancel 24 hours or less before the start of program, you'll be charged the full program amount of $16

FAQs: 

Q: Do I have to come with a partner or group of 4? 

A: Nope! This open play atmosphere allows singles or groups to drop into the mix. 

Q: How many games do I get to play? 

A: This will depend on how many players come out. We will open additional courts if the attendance exceeds 10 players to ensure everyone gets the chance to play a few games. To speed up play, the group also has the power to decide to reduce the required points to win each game. 

Fun fact, an average pickleball game takes about 10 minutes, so in a 90-minute block, there is the chance for about 9 games with 4 players at a time. 

Q: Do I have to sign-up ahead of time? 

A: We strongly encourage all participants to sign up ahead of time.

Q: Do I need to know how to play pickleball before I come? 

A: Courts & Coffee is for Beginner+ & Intermediate players- you must have played before and know how to keep score (Rally Scoring). While there will be rules for how to play available and Rally staff to provide some support, this is not an instructor-led program. We have other options for new players, such as Rally Rookies, for the best experience for first-time players. 

Q: Do I need to bring my own paddle? 

A: Nope! Paddles and balls will be included for those who need them. 

Q: After I work up a sweat, do you have breakfast? 

A: Our café is open daily 7am – 3pm and we serve a variety of beverages (remember, for Courts & Coffee your first café drink is on us) as well as a variety of muffins, pastries, avocado toast, egg sandwiches and more! 

Q: I have a meeting at 8:30am, but want to play as long as possible. Do you have WIFI? What about showers?

A: We sure do! May we suggest grabbing a smoked salmon bagel, second coffee, and settling in to one of our garden pods. They have the best morning light. At this time, we don't have showers, but we will provide cold towels for all players post-match.

Q: Can I upgrade my cold brew or drip coffee to a speciality beverage?

A: At this time, only drip coffee or cold brew is included in your Courts & Coffee entry. We are happy to add any milk/alt milk of your choice. If you'd like a different beverage, you'll need to purchase this separately.
